This small update to BBBBScd-Xeno V1.01 allows you to pre-copy files to
your hard disk before they are archived. This has 2 benefits (on Teri Odin)
1. It cures *my* problem with LZX and AsimCDFS not working together and
creating CRC errors.
2. If you use a CD jukebox, there's less chance of 2 users on different
CD titles hanging your SCSI bus or wearing out the CD change mechanism,
as most of time comsuming work (archiving) is done from the h-d.
Installation:
-------------
1. Make a directory on one of your hard disks. I use a subdirectory of
my existing doors:bbbbsCD/ directory, but you can make it anywhere you
like on any valid ados volume, and you can name anything that you like.
2. Edit your Xconfig:bbbbsCd.config file and add the new (9th) config line
for the path to copy the files to (the one you created in step 1).
This line must contain the full path to the directory, and end with "/".
Enter a single zero ("0") if you want to disable the pre-copy function.
3. Copy the replacement bbsArcExt.Rexx script to your s: directory.
*** That's it! ***
Notes:
------
* BBSarcext will create and delete 'node' sub directories in your chosen
directory. You need to ensure there is enought space in your partition
to hold (in theory) the max_archive size for each node which uses BBBBScd.
* If anything goes wrong, you could be left with some files in one of the
node sub dirs, but it should be deleted automatically next time a user
runs bbsArcExt on that node...
Cheers!
